In Loving Memory of Lady Margaret Noel MacLehose
It is with great sadness that St. Paul’s Convent School received the news that Lady Margaret Noel MacLehose, wife of Murray MacLehose, a former governor of Hong Kong passed away peacefully in Scotland in her 100th year on 16th February, 2020.
During her time in Hong Kong Lady MacLehose was an ardent supporter of charitable work in the community. Lady MacLehose Holiday Village and HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre were both named after her to acknowledge her significant contribution in charitable affairs in Hong Kong.
Lady MacLehose was also a devoted teacher in St. Paul’s Convent School from 1959-1962. She will be remembered as one of the best teachers who showed great kindness and generosity to all. A Memorial Service in Christ the King Chapel will be arranged after the resumption of school due to the coronavirus, to commemorate her devotion and contribution to the school.
A Thanksgiving Service will take place in Maybole, Scotland on Wednesday 26th February at 2:30pm.
The AASPCS will be forever grateful to Lady MacLehose for her dedication and vision. Our prayers and condolences are with her family.
May she rest in peace.
