AASPCS Webinar: Hamorn Chung – Studying in Canada

Given the increasing interest in Canadian education and the subsequent pathways to permanent residency, Hamorn Chung, a SPCS alumni, proposed to hold a webinar that aims to provide comprehensive insights into:
1. The advantages of pursuing higher education in Canada.
2. The application and admission processes for Canadian institutions.
3. Post-graduation work opportunities in Canada.
4. Pathways to Canadian permanent residency following graduation.
5. How to avoid scams when hiring an agent or an “immigration consultant”.

Hamorn is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC-IRB) with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) in Canada. She is also a member of Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) in good standing.

Hamorn has over 15 years of experience in international teaching and school administration. She is a lifelong learner as demonstrated in her studious journey — Bachelor of Teaching (The University of Melbourne), Master of Education (The University of Hong Kong), Master in Counselling (Monash University), another Master of Education (in English Language Education this time, The Education University of Hong Kong), Diploma in Human Resources Management (McMaster University) and Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law (Queen’s University).

Hamorn has a passionate commitment to helping those in need, esp. English as a Second Language (ESL) learners (both children and adults) and potential or new immigrants in Canada.

In addition to school teaching and administration, Hamorn used to serve Oxford University Press (Hong Kong) as a Writer. Her research article “Learning Vocabulary through Drama Games” is published in The East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) Journal. She has presented in local and international conferences, e.g. the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference in America, The 21st Century Learning Conference in Hong Kong and Halton District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) Conference in Canada.

Hamorn honourably received several awards such as Marian Webb Award (Queen’s University), Action Research Award (EARCOS) and Conference Award (The EdUHK).
